Board games are one of the popular forms of entertainment. They are a great way to spend free time, an alternative to television, computers, smartphones. They not only entertain, but also develop imagination, teach prediction, decision-making, fair play and proper functioning in a group. Chess is the most famous. Each country has its favourites. There are plenty of board games you can buy in the shop, but the kids are happy to make their own games. Board games are used during lessons (learning to play chess), but mainly children play them during breaks or after lessons (during club classes). On October 10, we celebrate an unusual holiday - Board Games Day. On this occasion, children could bring their games to school. A Board Games Tournament and a Chess Tournament were organised. We encouraged children to involve their parents and siblings in playing board games at home.
